Adventures in Mexico part IV

November 25th to December 9th 2007

Hard on the heels of the last trip in January - closer than I had anticipated, anyway - I found myself again sitting in the departure lounge at Gatwick airport waiting for a flight to Mexico.  This time just two of us, my friend Phil Young and I, and this time headed for new territory.  On my previous three trips to Mexico I had flown into Mexico City and then travelled through the north and central states. This time we were bound for Cancún - the plan being to drive west through the Yucatán peninsular to explore the highlands of Chiapas and onto Oaxaca to take in the delights of what is written to be one of the richest areas, botanically, in the whole of Mexico.
